Best Answer: There are no 2000 watt hair dryers. An industrial strength heat gun, about three times the size of any hair dryer, runs 1500 watts and gets hot enough to melt silver, or to burn a hole through anything that won't melt. I suspect you mean a 200 watt hair dryer. That is controlled by a thermostat.
